Months Behind Recruitment Policy

Who are we?

Months Behind is a raiding guild on Mug'thol (PVP-US). We are ranked 3rd in PVE progression among Alliance guilds, and one of three guilds that are still around since the server was launched 4 years ago. We raid up to 4 days a week, Mon-Thu, from 6:30pm CST to 10:30pm CST. During WotLK, we have been running 25-man's on Tue/Wed, and 10-man's on Thu/Fri. We use the weekends to relax. We try to get a good blend of PVE progression with having fun with your friends.

Our Mission Statement:
It's a game. It's not hard. So let's have fun and do our best to see end-game content.

This philosophy has worked for us for over four years, and it won't change.

If you want to raid 4 days a week, 4 hours a night and enjoy singing the theme song from Mulan, you will be happy here. You may want to kill people and log out of vent, but you'll be happy.

If you want to raid 7 days a week, 6 hours a night, raid on the PTR on the 8th night and enjoy yelling at people, you will not be happy here.

That's why we are looking for people who will fit in.

At Months Behind, we want to make sure that new raiders meet our criteria for raiding. We also want to make sure that our guild is someplace where raiders will fit in and be happy.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

You MUST:
Have Ventrilo with a working microphone.
Be able to raid up to 4 days a week.
Be able to take criticism.
Have the $25 to transfer to Mug'thol within 2 days of acceptance.

We do NOT:
Take package deals (I'll join if my friend joins). We will consider packages deals as separate apps.
Recruit French Separatists.
Recruit players under the age of 18 or those in high school. (This mean you, Mr. 18-year old high school student)
Recruit emo female players.
Recruit players who want a raiding guild for their alt.
Recruit Resto Druids whose name begins with the letter "X".
Recruit anyone who is a friend of Imavan.

We do not make exceptions to these requirements.

Gear:
Be in Ulduar10/25 level gear at a minimum (item level 219+).
No blues, heroic gear.
A few pieces of Nax 25/Malygos/OS25 gear are acceptable, particularly if they are trinkets/librams/wands/etc.

Do not expect for us to take an interest in gearing you up through heroics or 10-mans. You are expected to make every effort possible to join pugs on your own.

ALL OF YOUR GEAR MUST BE ENCHANTED AND SOCKETED. YOU MUST HAVE APPROPRIATE PVE GLYPHS. (Blue Gems, and Enchants that are suitable for your class.)

Be attuned to most/all of the instances.
Install all of the required mods for raids.
Be able to attend 80% of raids during your probationary period.
Be willing to farm all of the consumables for progression raids (1 stack of flasks, 2 stacks of elixirs, 5 stacks of pots, 1 stack of food, 2 bottles of oil/stones).
Study for all new boss encounters.

If you do not exceed these requirements, please save both of us the time and do not post an application.

THE PROCESS

All Applications are Private - The only persons who can read your application are yourself and members of this guild. No non-members will be able to read your application.

All new recruits to Months Behind will go through a minimum 3-week recruitment process. This will be extended at the discretion of the GM.

During the recruitment process, you must be at least 30 minutes early to every raid, and stay on-line or on vent for the entire duration even if you are on the waitlist. We are looking for reliable raiders first and foremost.

You must have 80% attendance for all raids (be on-line for the raid, not necessarily be in the raid).

Raid spots are earned, not given. If you are an exceptional player, you will always have a raid spot, regardless of class or seniority. You choose to give up your raid spot when you decide you don't want to give 100% to every raid.

At the end of the probation, the officers will take a vote on whether or not to extend you permanent membership into our guild, extend your probation, or reject your application.

We also ask that all recruits remove their applications to other guilds during this period. We realize that there is no guarantee that you will choose to join us, but we want recruits that are willing to put their full energy into the recruiting process. We want to avoid situations where a recruit applies with us while waiting for invites from other guilds. If you apply to another guild during the time you are in the recruitment process, you will be removed from consideration.

DKP

All Probationary Members earn DKP, but they loot after a main raider. If a main raider passes an item to a probationary member, they will still be charged DKP for this item. This negative DKP will carry over once the Probationary Member becomes a full member. Once you become a member any positive DKP is zeroed out. Any negative DKP stays.

Probationary Members can never receive loot over a main.

This is designed so that:
1) New members do not horde DKP. They are encouraged to spend it.
2) New members will get some loot for the time they put into raids.
3) Main raiders will not be overlooked when an item they want drops.

and most important of all

4) You join the guild because you want to be in the guild, and not because of the purples.

We are not a high-end raiding guild that does 25-man raids every night. We are also not a small guild of chummy people who stress over Kara runs. We're at a comfortable spot in between. This is a guild of solid raiders who can and will clear every 10 and 25 man instance. But we want to do it at our own pace.

If you're willing to gquit because you don't get that Tier 6 Shoulder or Skull of Gul'dan you've wanted, then this is not the place for you.

If you want to be in a guild where you'll spend all of your time chit-chatting in guild chat and where personality > skill, then this is not the place for you.

If you want to raid 7 days a week, 8 hours a night, this is not the place for you.

We're looking for players who are not shy, and are willing to voice their opinions. No one is more important than anyone else in this guild, and this applies to applicants.

We're looking for raiders who want to join because they want to have fun with a good group of people and get nice purples at that same time.

We're looking for raiders who want to earn respect with their skills, not their typing.

If this is you, Welcome.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Zunn or Efram in-game.

Now that you've gone this far, for question #10 the correct answer is "Koda loves to nurture me."
